#ArtLitPhx: Issue 17 Launch Party

cover artThursday, April 28th, at 6 PM

Mark your calendars for the launch party of Superstition Review’s Issue 17.

Our online issue airs May 1st, 2016 at superstitionreview.asu.edu.

We will celebrate 8 years and 17 issues of the magazine at the Northlight Gallery, where artwork in Ryan Parra’s VIVARIUM showcase will be displayed. The showcase interests in the rich history and current practices of ethno-botany (such as traditional shamanic practices), the history of still life paintings and plant illustrations, the exploration of plants as a system of knowledge, and the organization of agriculture for the purpose of sustaining the masses. The exhibition on view includes still lifes of edible, medicinal, and psychoactive plants growing in the Tempe/Phoenix valley, along with video and installation continuing the theme of containment and control.

This event is free and open to the public. View more details on our Facebook event.
