Such a wonderful point! I keep a “Compost” file on my computer for anything I write from one-liners to abandoned short-stories. Every now and then, I dig into the compost file and find an effective way to use bits and pieces in new works. Waste not, want not!

I’ve never considered taking one or two good scenes from a piece that didn’t work overall and crafting a brand new story out of it. That was such a great piece of advice and it makes me want to go back through all of my past work to see what I can pull to create something new and improved!
