On Saturday August 28th the newest group of Superstition Review interns gathered for a working lunch at managing editor Trish Murphy’s home to discuss Issue 6. After some refreshments and introductions, Trish discussed tasks for each of the interns and described goals for Issue 6 of SR.

To ensure that each section will run smoothly, interns split into pairs based on their roles on the magazine. Experienced and returning interns were able to give advice to new staff members as we discussed deadlines and our new submissions site, http://superstitionreview.submishmash.com/submit.

It was a helpful and productive afternoon that allowed each member of the staff to become acquainted with other interns and their new positions at Superstition Review.

A working lunch is a great idea for interns to meet face-to-face, especially when the majority of the magazine’s work takes place online. The new submission site looks like a great new addition to the workflow!
Wow, an inside look at Superstition Review’s planning sessions!
It’s nice to have an online submission option and the blog looks great. Nice work Ashley! How was the gathering? It looks productive.
Hey who is that guy with the stylish hat?
Having the first meeting off campus was a nice change from the usual!
This was a great way to have a fun, easy-going and prolific meeting.
I regret that I had a previous engagement that did not allow me to attend this, but hopefully there will be more opportunities to gather!
I definitely didn’t expect such a personable magazine internship. Very refreshing!
What a great way to meet everyone and put faces to the names we will be seeing for the next several months. I found this experience to be an effective way of getting the semester started.
And Cookies too!
I’m sorry to have missed this event. It seems that everyone got a lot out of the gathering. I didn’t know there would be cookies : (
I wonder who was taking such great pictures!
😉
Such a great idea! Easy was for the interns to get to know eachother before beginning such a big project
@Chris You’re right, it was very productive and I enjoyed meeting those who were able to attend. Since our work is primarily done online, we might not have been able to have this nice introduction otherwise.
@Rebecca Thanks so much! I’m really working hard to keep everyone up to speed with every aspect of Superstition Review Issue 6 and our wonderful staff of interns.
